Jan 2018 –  Musculoskeletal sessions – Saturdays

New from Jan 2018! Ballet First will be offering Musculoskeletal Alignment group morning sessions, on the 2nd Saturday of every month for students and adults at the Ballet School. Individual sessions can also be arranged for tailored assessments. The group sessions will be offered by Olive Collins (retired) Physiotherapist specialising in dancers’ structural alignment and will take place at the ARC school venue. No need to book, just drop-in!

 

Royal Ballet School Teachers INSPIRE Seminars

From Jan – Oct 2017, Principal Theresa Crumb successfully completed the 6 Seminar development program for teachers, carried out at the Upper School Covent Garden and is enjoying passing this valuable training on to her students covering new methods of training and development.

 

Royal Ballet School Audition Insight: 11 – 17yrs

Our advanced Ballet student Charlotte Coles (16) participated in the Mock Audition process at the Royal Ballet School on 25th October, to gain an insight into what would be expected at a real audition for the Associate program and Upper School full time vocational course. Students were put through their paces and Charlotte did herself proud. The event was held in the lovely studios at the Upper School, Covent Garden, with parent and Teacher observation. Well done!

Dance shop at Ballet First

Previously known as Olives Ballet Boutique from Ware – Olive now brings her Ballet supplies to Ballet First on the second Saturday of every month for dancers to purchase shoes, tights etc.
Olive also offers individual Structural Posture Alignment sessions for dancers. Olive is a renowned much sought after Physiotherapist specialising in dancers’ physique, having published many books and articles around the Sarling technique. Dancer Ollie Grant gains 2nd year at Central School of Ballet

Ballet First young male dancer has gained a 2nd year at Central School of Ballet on the Associate Dancers course. Well done Ollie!

 

Royal Ballet School Seminars

BALLET FIRST Principal Theresa Crumb has attended CPD Teacher training Seminars with the Royal Ballet School on their INSPIRE program in Covent Garden, London this year, to update on their new methods of Classical Ballet training. Theresa is looking forward to passing this valuable knowledge and experience on to her own students here at Ballet First, to maintain and develop high standards and levels of training.

 

Show 2017 – Coppelia Act 2 and Dance variations

As in previous years, our Ballet First performance at the Rhodes Theatre, Bishops Stortford on July 15th 2017 was a huge success. We received excellent feedback regarding the high level of dancing this year and the varied programme of dances. All the dancers aged 4 – 18 yrs danced superbly displaying their talents and joy of dancing. Well done everyone!
