Christmas ‘Drop-in’ classes

Following on from our very popular Xmas ‘Drop-in’ classes last year, we will be offering these open classes again December 18th – 22nd; just drop in to any of the classes on offer for your Christmas class with festive ballet music and a joyful atmosphere; no need to pre-book. Various Ballet classes will be given for ages 7yrs – adult, with Jazz and Contemporary classes for older students. See Flyer on the home page for timetable of classes. Happy Xmas!

 

Our students at the Royal Ballet School

Principal Theresa Crumb is engaging in the 2nd series of the Royal Ballet School’s ‘INSPIRE’ program for teachers – ‘INSPIRE TO BE’ and our Pre-Senior students: Amanda and Matilda were invited to take part in a class with Royal Ballet School teachers on Sunday 4th November. Both students danced exceptionally well and thoroughly enjoyed their day at the Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden; well done!

 

Ollie Grant offered another year at Central School of Ballet

Ollie Grant, our young danseur noble has passed the next assessment stage at CENTRAL SCHOOL of BALLET, London and been offered a 3rd year on the Associate Course. Ollie continues to attend BALLET FIRST midweek and attends Central on Saturdays. Ollie will begin his 3rd year from September 2018. Well done Ollie!

 

Charlotte Coles gains place at Vocational School, Scotland

CHARLOTTE COLES age 16 has successfully auditioned amongst hundreds of hopefuls from across the Country, to be offered a place with a national vocational Ballet School in Argyll, Scotland. The Dance Degree course means also becoming part of the the Ballet Company itself, touring Scotland with Professional dancers in Classical Ballets such as Swan Lake.  The School were so impressed with Charlotte at the Audition, that she was offered a place straight away after her first class.  Charlottes hard work and determination has definitely paid off, well done!

Formerly Olives Ballet Boutique of Olive Collins (Glasgow) in Ware, we are now selling children and adult flat shoes, canvas and leather from Grishko suppliers, plus ballet tights, Pointe shoe fittings by appointment for soft and full Pointe students, hair accessories, pointe sewing kits, pointe padding incl. gel pads for shoes, ballet bags and other accessories.

Musculoskeletal Sarling Therapy Saturdays at Ballet First

From May 2018 we will be welcoming Sarling Technique therapist Ethan Lewis, who will be attending BALLET FIRST on the 2nd Saturday in every month to assess and advise on postural alignment, gait and body use, weaknesses and flexibility to students and anyone who needs support, assessment or therapy. Ethan is a trained Sarling technique expert and protégé of Sarling technique founder Olive Collins . Ethan will also be working alongside our dancers on positive body use to prevent injury.

 

Show 2018 – The Sleeping Beauty Act 1, Sunday 15th July

Our 2018 annual performance was at the Rhodes Theatre, Bishops Stortford Sunday 15th July, where our students superbly danced the Sleeping Beauty Act 1 – an enchanting ballet performance for all the family, plus variations from some of the Classical Ballet greats and Contemporary dance pieces, displaying their versatility and technical assurance of our BALLET FIRST dancers.
